A curious video appeared on the Internet: in it, Felipe Camiroaga “relives” digitally. A well-known film and advertising company shared a post on TikTok and Instagram where you can see the late Chilean animator interacting with none other than the comedian Stefan Kramer.
The images show the beloved face having a fun conversation with the comedian. A product that was achieved thanks to new technologies: Artificial Intelligence and DeepFake.
DeepFake and AI
“Thanks to AI and #DeepFake technology, we want to honor one of the most loved and missed people by Chileans, the great Felipe Camiroaga”, they pointed out in the Deepmaster profile.
A couple of weeks ago the media “Soy Chile” published about this film company. Pointing out that “the service they offer allows you to make hyper-realistic doubles, rejuvenate, as well as “revive” characters.” Like what they did now with Camiroaga.
DeepMaster is a Chilean startup dedicated to providing solutions for different types of audiovisual works. This technology, DeepFake with Artificial Intelligence, arose from the eaves of the internet and the fascination that videos exert in many people, and was perfected by a group of image enthusiasts to give it a new use, one of them is Cristóbal Ross, entrepreneur of the 3IE Institute.
The prolonged confinements and the search for entertainment turned many people to consume videos on various platforms, one of them Tiktok. And there, too, many more people focused on creating content.
This is how deepfakes became popular, videos where using famous faces, people put them in different situations, thanks to applications and programs. But at DeepMaster they knew how to turn it around for the better and find a space in the field of audiovisual production.
Cristóbal Ross, founder and executive director of DeepMaster, explained in the interview with “Soy Chile” that this “is a very practical solution for the audiovisual world, since it offers three advantages that make it very competitive and useful to advertisers, filmmakers or creators. of content in social networks: it allows to do “impossible” things like reviving historical figures, with a fraction of the cost and time that it would take to do it through 3D modeling”.
