Successful as Metal Gear Solid
Although at first everything pointed to the imminent success of Death Stranding, driven by the fact that it was created by Kojima, its beginnings in the market were complicated, the income did not please the companies involved and even the credibility of one of the largest video game geniuses was in doubt.
At first, it didn’t post huge sales numbers and even Sony, in 2020, wasn’t happy with the results. At that moment, Hideo Kojima said that three million copies were in store stocks as of March of that year.
But then came the pandemic, bad news for the world but allowed Death Stranding to have more active players, and thus a renewed critical reassessment of the game which was also the work of his arrival on computers.
As for the future of Death Stranding, actor Norman Reedus recently said in an interview that Kojima Productions is working on a sequel. On the other hand, in recent weeks, the studio has also started to drop hints about its next title.
