Rob Liefield would confirm one of the most popular rumors of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and a potential major cameo. The film, directed by Sam Raimi, delves into the multiverse introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the series Loki Y Spider-Man: No Way Home.
We know from the trailer that the movie will star Benedict Wong (Wong), Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer), and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Mordo). There will also be Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff) and a new superhero, Xotichl Gomez as America Chavez. But rumors and leaks suggest that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will have a multitude of character appearances, including possible variations of Tony Stark, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.
And everything seems to indicate that the latter will be some of the characters that we will see introduced in the film. This has been confirmed by Rob Liefield, creator of dead pool on a podcast called The Big Thing.
During the interview he explained that Marvel is testing audiences with the film, and that some of the rumors that are circulating are real, in particular the appearance of characters that come from Disney’s purchase of Fox. Among them may be dead poolsome of the X Menincluding Wolverine or Professor X or the Fantastic four. It is not clear if these are previous versions or totally new.
The secrecy behind ‘Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness’
Marvel is keeping a major secret with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. After the constant leaks of Spider-Man: No Way Home —most were real— it was expected that they would increase the measures to prevent it from happening with other productions.
It is not clear if what is mentioned by Rob Liefeld it is the product of seeing the film or a rumor within the studio. It is true that during the interview he joked about how Marvel will withdraw his access for revealing this information, so it could well be an exaggeration on the part of the artist.
We are likely to see a second trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness during commercials superbowl. But the safest thing is that we do not get any surprises. The surprise behind any guest appearances by previous characters coming from Fox, especially one or more X-Men, will be reserved for the film.
One of the possible appearances is Charles Xavier, Professor X, who has been played by two different actors, Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy. The former has mentioned in interviews that he has met with Kevin Feige, but that he considers his work with the character to be over. While the latter has ever mentioned “never say never” about a potential comeback.
Also, in an interview with comicbook.com, he explained: “I love to do good things and when I was first asked to play Charles Xavier, I thought it was a good thing, with a quality script. I am satisfied with what I did with the character, especially in the first two films.” But he added: “If I get another chance, it’s a quality story I’m open to doing it again, but it has to be something really good.”
That said, another one of the leaks about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness They assure that the character we will see in the film will be the version played by Patrick Stewart, so we will have to wait until we are sitting in the cinema to find out.
