Dead Island It was a very interesting proposal in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 generation, but it left a lot of potential to improve in a sequel. Even if Dead Island 2 was announced in 2014, eight years have passed since then and there are no signs that the sequel is close to reaching the market, but new rumors assure that Dead Island 2 could arrive sometime in 2022.
Dead Island 2 is being developed by the studio Dambuster, from Deep Silver, which in turn is part of Koch Media. According to the well-known insider Tom Hendersondevelopment on Dead Island 2 is going well and the team hopes to show off the game later this year, along with a gameplay trailer showing what they’ve been working on.

The first Dead Island it came out in 2011 and had a spin-off called Dead Island: Riptide in 2013, so Dead Island 2 it would actually be the third installment in the series. However, this would be the first developed by Dambuster Studio, as the originals were made by Techland. Due to this, Dying Light could be considered a kind of spiritual sequel, which just released its second installment this month.

Although little is known about Dead Island 2, at least everything seems to indicate that the project is not dead, and instead we could see it reach consoles within the next year. Dead Island 2 would come to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC. However, some rumors suggest that Dead Island 2 would be exclusive to the new generation.
