The Xbox Series X|S hasn’t been around for too long, but it might be interesting to look into the future to see what Microsoft might be working on. In the industry there are usually clues and mysteries, and many of us like to reflect on what these mean, especially when it comes to console code names. The latest installment on mysterious symbols in video games comes courtesy of a dataminer who has unearthed a word hidden deep within the data sources.
Could it be that Microsoft is already planning a new console? A data miner called Tero Alhonen claims to have discovered a new Xbox productcalled by the code name “Keystone“. It’s certainly a suggestive word, which implies something important. Could it be something similar to Xbox One X? Xbox Series X ‘One X’?
Among these data, Keystone is listed as “product” and what lends credence to the speculation is that “Keystone” is listed directly below “Durango” and “Scarlett”. In fact, Microsoft has previously used code names for its consoles. Project Scarlett was announced at E3 2019 and was finally revealed as the codename for Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, “Durango” was the codename for Xbox One.
Of course, this is all speculative and we are all wondering just based on the proximity of this word to other words. But those other words turned out to be quite significant in the end. We still don’t quite know what “Keystone” means, but it’s terribly tempting. And the fact that it’s next to the Xbox Series X and Xbox One codenames is very suggestive. However, only time will tell what this new mystery hides.
