In an interview during the 2022 Met Gala, the actress danai gurira stated that the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is all in itself a tribute to the deceased Chadwick Boseman.
Gurira said that the sequel reflects all the passion of the people who have been involved and who have been working on it in front of and behind the camera. She described the film as a moving story, but without elaborating.
Listen, we’ve poured everything we had into it, and we hope you’ll experience that and connect with everyone the way it has with us. It tells a very moving story, and that’s all I can say.
When asked how the sequel pays tribute to Boseman, Gurira made it clear that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is quite a tribute in itself and that she and her team did everything they could to show their love for him throughout the film.
I think, in a beautiful way, I’m very grateful for how our amazing director and writer have handled that. It’s all about him, and for all of us, it’s been giving everything to love and honor him.
