D-Link has announced the market launch of a new router for mesh network systems with WiFi 6. This is the D-Link R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500, a model that, as its name suggests, is supported by a system based on Artificial Intelligence to improve performance.
The R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 is a router to use, which means that we are facing a model with external antennas, four in total, adjustable and finished in white. The shapes are those of a classic router with flat shapes and without the striking designs of other models.
Up to 230 square meters of coverage
What is striking about this model is that we are facing a Mesh router compatible with WiFi 6. The R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 is a model that allows you to create a mesh network if used with other units. By itself it can only offer, depending on the brand, a coverage of an area of up to 230 square meters.
The R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 allows Dual band WiFi transmission speeds of up to 1,500 Mbps (up to 300 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and up to 1201 Mbps in 5 GHz) thanks to the use of technologies such as MU-MIMO and OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access), a system that subdivides a channel into smaller frequency assignments so that information packets can be transmitted in parallel to several devices at the same time.
This WiFi 6 router improves performance thanks to the application of a system based on Artificial Intelligence and thus improve the speed, range and efficiency of the network. The system takes care of continuously search for the WiFi channel with the least amount of interference and thus offer the most stable connection while the AI Traffic Optimizer system prioritizes the most important connections.
On the other hand, R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 supports voice command control, so that it can be managed remotely through Google Assistant and Alexa. A model that also, as expected, has WPA3 wireless security. It also has one Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and three Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports.
Price and availability
The R15 EAGLE PRO AI AX1500 will hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2021 at a price not yet known together with the EAGLE PRO AI Mesh Extender (E15), a device that will allow you to establish a mesh WiFi network.
