Aztech: Forgotten Gods takes you into a universe in which the Aztec culture was never conquered and advances enormously in terms of technology. This is how the first video game is presented cyberpunk with Aztec theme.
This new game is developed by the studio indie Mexican Canvas, who in 2017 launched the platform Hunters Legacy and in 2018 they surprised the world with Mulaka, the 3D adventure game based on the Tarahumara culture.
Aztech: Forgoten Gods puts us in the role of Achtli who after causing an explosion in an expedition, will have to travel this stone metropolis (cyber-stone as the creators call this cyberpunk sub-style) and face various gods who try to destroy the city.
Exploring the great Tenochtitlán will be a great job for our protagonist, since the video game will have a large number of alternate missions, various outfits and improvements to make this adventure more striking.
Pre-Hispanic Mexico as a video game scene
This new proposal puts once again the history of Mexico and its cultural richness on the table to explore, especially in the field of science fiction and cyberpunk. Let us mention that although there are some video games based in our country, few are those that touch the pre-Hispanic theme, such as Mictlan: An Ancient Mithical Tale. With this, we hope that more and more studies, both Mexican and worldwide, will place emphasis on discovering the history of our country.
The video game was presented at the Nintendo Indie World in April 2021, and although it seemed an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, Aztech: Forgoten Gods will also arrive on the Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X and the Steam platform in sometime in 2022.
