This specific credit line, Pyme Agro, which has a budget of 13 million euros during the current year 2021, aims, through the digitization of small and medium-sized agri-food companies, to finally promote technology-based entrepreneurship throughout the chain value of the agri-food sector, and help the development of high-quality innovative projects that strengthen the business fabric in rural areas, prioritizing the incorporation of young people and women.
This new line will be aimed at both newly created companies and those in the growth, consolidation or internationalization phase, through the financing of business projects that develop technology-based activities -agroTIC-, with special attention to those with the capacity to generate quality employment for young people and women.
The financial instrument that ENISA offers is the participatory loan, with amounts between 25,000 and 1,500,000 euros, which does not require any guarantees other than those of the business project itself and a solvent management team. Applicant companies must have their registered office in Spain and undertake the necessary investments, carrying out specific projects, including refinancing cases, and basing their activity on the generation of new products, processes or services. These business projects must be technically and economically viable, as well as have an innovative, novel business model or one with clear competitive advantages.
Agri-food SMEs
Small and medium-sized agri-food and rural enterprises constitute a basic framework of the national economy and need a financial boost to facilitate the digital transition, as well as entrepreneurship.
This is one of the measures contemplated within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which has among its strategic lines the digitization of the economy. Of the 13 million euros of this line for this year, 10 million will be charged to the European recovery funds, and the other 3 million from the ordinary budget of the ministry. In 2022 and 2023, the continuity of this program is planned through the signing of agreements for 15 and 10 million euros.
