A regional form of Arbok is playing hard to get.
We see a trend that has been present in Pokémon for years in the inclusion of regional formswhich consist of giving a new look, design and characteristics to already known species, some of the most relevant being Vulpix, Ninetales, Meowth, Weezing, Farfetch’damong many others, serving not only to change their designs, but also manage to give a second chance to forgotten Pokémon.
Under this premise, it must be said that an attempt has been made, above all, to offer all kinds of variants in some cases introducing the counterparts in later titles, as has been the case with Vulpix and Growlithe, as well as Muk and Weezing. However, of all the cases mentioned, it must be said that one of the most requested Pokémon is Ekans, who is a counterpart to both Koffing and Sandshrew. And under this premise, a fan has made a fanart of a regional form of Arbok.
Arbok as a Spanish gentleman
It must be said that the basis of this drawing comes from the announcement of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Purple, so that the design of Arbok would be based on the Spanish culture, this being the country in which the new Pokémon region would be based. Having said all this, in this case this work comes to us from the user I FOUND YOU FAKER, who has characterized Arbok.
As you can see, first of all the type combination would be Poison / Steel, a combination that has not been seen to date. On the other hand, the elements present in this Pokémon would emulate the Spanish soldiers and the uniform they wore at the time of the Catholic Monarchs and Carlos I of Spain. You can see it below:
It must be said that this historical theme would fit well with the design given to Weezing Galar, which, in this case, focused on the industrial revolution and the lordship present in England during this time. We will have to see if we end up seeing some Ekans and Arbok in these games, since for now the presence of Seviper has been confirmed, but no more snakes.
