Craig Breen has started his relationship with M-Sport this Wednesday, October 6 after signing the contract that binds him to the Cumbrian coach for two seasons. Nevertheless, the Irishman’s real relationship with his new team started earlier, specifically on September 9. While the World Cup caravan was contesting the shakedown of the Acropolis Rally, Breen and his co-driver Paul Nagle had left Greece to have their first test with the Ford Puma Rally1, all with permission from Hyundai. A test session developed in the forests of Greystoke that Craig Breen will hardly forget because of its importance.
In the end, Craig Breen had not had the opportunity to drive the test mule of the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 with the imminent resolution of his future and his move to M-Sport, so this test with the Ford Puma Rally1 was Breen’s first experience with a hybrid rally car. Specifically, Breen and Nagle got behind the wheel of the number 2 chassis of the Ford Puma in a test session that took place on a section selected by M-Sport that featured a long straight, several corner sections and even a little jump.
In exclusive statements to ‘DirtFish’, Craig breen He assured after his first contact with the Ford Puma Rally1 with which he will compete in the WRC 2022: «The car is amazing. When you get full power, it really wakes you up something. It is a very different vehicle than the ones we had until now. I heard other drivers talk about how different it is to drive these new vehicles and it really is.. You have a lot more to think about in relation to the use of the hybrid system, but also because of the new suspensions or the way in which you have to reduce the speed of the car. Everything has changed and it is our job to get the most out of these cars».
