Cell phones or smartphones are one of the most used devices in the world, and they have undoubtedly improved people’s communication. In this sense, new data was recently revealed where the countries where people spend the most time on their cell phones are.
Data from Gartner reveal that the use of smartphones has grown in recent years, in such a way that, currently, it is estimated that approximately 1,535 million smartphones are sold worldwide this year.
Likewise, other surprising data is that more than eight out of 10 people have mobile coverage in the world, almost half of the world’s population, some 3.6 billion people, use the Internet and have a computer with a connection at home and the average of life of a cell phone in the United States, China and Europe does not exceed a year and a half or two years.
Countries
A new global study identified the countries where their population spends the most time per day using the cell phone during the year 2022.
According to research data, it is in the top ten, five Latin American countries, and the one that leads the list is South Africa, where it is considered that 58.2 percent of the time is spent on average per day, which also represents three fifths of a person’s waking time.
Likewise, the second country with the longest cell phone use time, and the first Latin American to appear on the list, is Brazil, where its inhabitants spend up to 56.6 percent of their waking time using their mobile phones.
Another country that is in the top is Argentina, which is positioned in fourth place after the Philippines (54.44 percent), there is an estimate of 53.8 percent of the time using a cell phone.
While the fifth and sixth place in the report is occupied by Colombia with 53.20 percent and Chile with 51.59 percent, since the citizens of both Latin American countries consume content daily.
In the case of Mexico, it occupies the seventh position and registers a use of the cell phone of 48.6 percent of the time of its citizens.
In this sense, this research registers the importance of cell phones in today’s world and more so when these devices are the main means of communication, information, entertainment and even work today.
