In Mexico we can find vendors of prepared corn practically on every corner, and now this traditional appetizer has reached France. the entrepreneur Deivinson Field has gone viral for its peculiar business: a street corn stall next to the Eiffel Towerthe most iconic and visited monument in Paris.
Corn is one of the most consumed products in Mexico in all its forms, such as in the ubiquitous tortillas. One of the most popular is the corn with mayonnaise, lemon, cheese and chili “that itches or that it doesn’t itch”, either on the cob or in grains, better known as ‘esquites’ in the capital and several states of the country.
However, it is also a very important element in the gastronomy of other Latin American countries, such as Colombiawhere it is the base to prepare tamales, empanadas and the famous arepas.
Perhaps for this reason, the young Colombian chose to sell corn on the Parisian streets, to satisfy the cravings of international palates. Deivinson showed off his entrepreneurship in a video of TikTok which quickly went viral, causing a sensation among Internet users.
“Corn, corn, corn!”shouts the enthusiastic vendor stationed on the side of the Eiffel Tower.
His stand consists of a supermarket cart with a pot where he keeps the warm corn. It has a table to display them and crave passers-by, as well as a bag for the leaves that it removes from the ears. In the clip you can see that she only puts a little salt on them before giving them to her guests in a disposable napkin. after charging 1 euro per piecehe bids them farewell with a warm “merci” (thank you).
The corn seller sent a message of encouragement from Paris
Deivinson, who migrated to the French capital several years ago, has posted several videos on his TikTok account where he recounts his experiences and what his life is like there. On this occasion, he took the opportunity to ask them to support street vendors and value his work.
Friends we meet here from the Eiffel Tower here in Paris. I’m from Colombia and this is for the people you sometimes come across selling a red wine, an arepa, an empanada on the street. I want to tell you that this is also the work of many people. Let’s collaborate, this may be the way to bring food home. From Paris, I send you blessings and much success.”
said the entrepreneur.

The reactions have not been long in coming
Until now, the video exceeds 534 thousand reproductions and has more than 24 thousand likes. Among the more than 1,800 comments that he accumulates, many users have congratulated him for his attitude and initiative.
“Work is work, whoever wants can, money is on the street, you just have to go out and look for it”, “It is very good to find this far from our land”, “Parcero I congratulate you on this achievement”, “I applaud you friend” and “What elegance of France”, are some messages from Internet users.
However, he also received criticism for serving the corn without gloves and receiving the money with the same hand. In addition to his way of handling food, there were also those who suggested preparing them ‘Mexican style’.
“Congratulations. Just as a tip, get a tong or tongs to grab the corn. This way you avoid being told that with the hand that handles money, use the tweezers”, “My friend, I congratulate you on that project, but do not grab the silver with the hand that handles food” and “The mayonnaise, the lemon, the chili that stings or that doesn’t sting”, they commented.
In addition to his corn stall, Deivinson sells blood sausage with potato, a typical Colombian dish. For this, he teamed up with a friend, who prepares food for him to go out and sell or take orders.
We find ourselves looking for life like all Latinos who decide to emigrate to Europe. The lady prepares them (the black pudding) and I take care of delivering them. We already have several to deliver.”
