Prior to Drive (2011), Only God forgives (2013) and the neon demon (2016), the filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn he had made his directorial debut in the television format with the series Miss Marple (2007). Now, he returns to the old ways of serial projects, but under the supervision of Netflix with the title Copenhagen Cowboywhich becomes the director’s first production in his native Denmark after 15 years.

“Copenhagen Cowboy revolves around a young heroine named Miu (Angela Bundalovic). After a life of servitude and about to start anew, she traverses the ominous underworld of the criminal underworld of the city of the same name. Seeking justice and revenge, she meets her nemesis, Rakel, and they embark on an odyssey through the natural and the supernatural. The past ends up transforming and defining their future, as the two women discover that they are not alone, but that they are many.

The Danish filmmaker revealed that he managed to unify his work as a filmmaker, but also as a family man. “We were locked up as a family in Denmark and I came up with this idea,” the filmmaker told Variety. “It became a wonderful creative process where he no longer lived in two separate worlds as a creator by day and a family man by night. It is a new chapter in my way of working, but also in our lives”.
In addition, for the creation of this new universe of the director, the series has the participation of the director of photography Magnus Nordenhof Jønck (A war), the production designer Gitte Malling (Under the sand) and music by Cliff Martinez, peter peter, peter kyed Y Julian Winding.
