They claim Oxxo on Twitter and consumers list the “biggest lies” of the store.
Oxxo is definitely one of the most popular convenience stores today.
A post on Twitter opened a small conversation thread where some Oxxo consumers talk about the “two biggest lies” of the brand.
People’s consumption habits have been changing over the years; today, the consumer is not the same as three years ago, before the arrival of the pandemic, and much less than 10 years ago.
As with technology, people are constantly evolving and, because of this, their preferences and demands are also renewed over time.
Nowadays, it is almost impossible to walk the streets without seeing an Oxxo store, 7-Eleven or any other self-service store. Far away, in that sense, the old grocery stores are being left behind in the face of the constant growth of these establishments.
Oxxo, in short, is one of the most popular stores and this is shown by Statista, where, in February 2020, the convenience store chain was the company with the largest number of branches for the collection of remittances in Mexico, with a total of 19,146 establishments. For its part, Farmacias Guadalajara occupied the second position, with less than one eighth of the number of Oxxo branches.
In addition, consumers have a wide range of products practically at their fingertips, which they can get without the need to visit large supermarkets.
Tweeter creates conversation thread and consumers talk about Oxxo’s mistakes
However, there is at least a couple of complaints that consumers of the brand report day by day: the fact that they do not attend 24 hours a day and the little or no use of a second boxthereby creating a long line of consumers.
On Twitter, a post opened a small conversation thread in which some users comment on what they consider the “biggest lies of Oxxo”.

The one of the 3 clients in line to open the second box… another one is the “Withdraw” cash from their boxes (they never have money)

The reward card is a lie, out of nowhere I had 1 free coffee, to hook you, I currently buy, the points do not go up.

Currently, the consumer has a great tool to make known what bothers them about the brands they consume.
These types of claims, in fact, are constantly reported on Twitter, which It reflects, in that sense, a significant lack in terms of customer service.
Of course, Oxxo, through its Community Manager, responded to consumer tweets, although it is not the only one that reports this type of claim.
Recall the case of 7-Eleven where consumer does not accept being charged 10 pesos for using the microwaveand less when, according to what he mentions, he made purchases of 70 pesos in the store.
The microwave can only be used for products purchased inside the store. It is free of charge and other products cannot be heated. Sorry for the disturbances.

In the end, this only reflects the opinion of the consumer and the conversation that it generates in the digital pulse, so Merca 2.0 requested the position of the brand in order to tell both sides of the story; however, so far it has not been received. The note will be updated in case of a response.
