The summer announcement season for games has started fast for PlayStation fans, as the company has just celebrated a new State of Play. During this 30-minute presentation, fans were treated to a number of interesting PlayStation-related game announcements, including trailers for Stray and The Callisto Protocol.
In addition to these updates on upcoming games, players got some exciting news about the space exploration and survival game No Man’s Sky. In the same way that No Man’s Sky takes players on a journey, the developers at Hello Games have gone on quite an expedition to update the game over the years.
In the time since its release in 2016, the title’s procedurally generated worlds have seen significant and often positive changes. In addition to adding new content and features for players, the developer previously brought the experience of No Man’s Sky to virtual reality devices in 2019.
Now, it has been revealed that VR support for the game is coming to a new device. During the PlayStation State of Play, Hello Games shared a trailer of approximately 50 seconds for No Man’s Sky. In the short video, the developer revealed that No Man’s Sky’s VR support would be coming to Playstation VR2 following the launch of the virtual reality headset in the coming months.
During the short video, fans were treated to a glimpse of gameplay. Some of the scenes captured during the trailer included a player piloting a spaceship near a space station, along with various action shots, including a battle with sentinels. A giant space bug was even shown.
In addition to the trailer, Sean Murray, the founder of Hello Games, offered other details about the next version of No Man’s Sky. According to the developer, technological improvements over the past two years have allowed the studio to take player immersion to “a whole new level.” Additionally, he noted that the new Sense controller will help the credibility of the experience.
