From July 6 to 8, 20222, ETHBarcelona, a conference on Ethereum (ETH), will be held in Spain, with the aim of accelerating the social impact of the Web3 and demonstrate how blockchain technology can create this impact on society. This was announced by the organizing team of the event to Cointelegraph, through a press release.
The Ethereum conference will take place at the iconic Barcelona International Convention Center (CCI), and the expectations about the event, is that it manages to stand out worldwide, for “the focus it has on social impact, culture and Web3 technologies”.
As highlighted in the statement, the ETHBarcelona, took as inspiration for this year, the movement “SolarPunk”, which supposes a world where the technology of blockchain it empowers nature and people alike.
Micaela Ruíz, who is part of the ETHBarcelona team, explains that Barcelona is a city that has the advantage of being a center “multicultural” and it is the ideal place to unite the blockchain communities.
“It is in these community gatherings that you can feel the alchemy between the people and the projects that are being built. The intersection of web3 with art and social impact is woven into the city. Barcelona is a multicultural center and attracts people from all over the world, making it the perfect place to bring together the English and Spanish-speaking blockchain communities,” explains Ruiz.
He further added that: “We are committed to making ETHBarcelona a diverse, solution-oriented, positive and welcoming festival for all crypto-natives and crypto-curious who want to join the journey.“
Also, informed that 5% of ticket sales will be donated to a social impact organization, which will be selected through a survey among the attendees of the event, at the same time that they will enjoy musical attractions, NFT exhibitions, practical workshops and meditation spaces, among others.
In addition, they highlighted the fact that the conference will serve as a bridge to unite technological conferences loaded with the latest blockchain news, together with a conglomerate of more than 100 speakers, who will bring to the fore in the talks topics ranging from, the ethics of blockchain to art, innovation, digital identity and the metaverse.
Among the speakers at ETHBarcelona are representatives of some of the most prominent blockchain organizations, such as James Beck from ConsenSys (MetaMask), Simona Pop from Gitcoin & Status.im, and Scott More, co-founder of Gitcoin. There will also be some Web3 pioneers such as Evin McMullen, CEO of Disco.xyz, and Griff Green, co-founder of Giveth, Commons Stack and DAppNode.
