This year something quite interesting was announced by PlayStation, a new controller called DualSense Edge, which promises to be a revolution for those looking for a lot of precision. Thus, some users wondered if it will be up to Xbox Elite Series 2, since they have almost similar characteristics. In a big picture, the DualSense Edge includes adjustable trigger locks on the back of the device, similar to the Elite line. It means that you can adjust the trigger travel distance, which is useful for competitive shooters or when you want to minimize the dead zone in racing games. It also offers three trigger pulse positions that can be adjusted with a small switch next to both triggers on each side. For its part, it carries with it the internal DualSense battery and USB-C support. Theoretically it would have better battery life than the regular DualSense. Also, the pro model is a charger in the case. To this is added that Xbox continues to use conventional batteries. One notable difference is that the Xbox Elite Series 2 does not include a USB-C cable like the DualSense Edge, but it does include a wireless charging pad. Simply plug a USB-C cable into the back for it to charge in the case. Both have customization options, but the DualSense Edge has the ability to replace memory modules, something the Xbox Elite controller doesn’t offer. Both controls come with removable levers. Xbox Elite Series 2 offers a set of six tension-adjustable joysticks: two standard, two classic, one tall, and one wide. The DualSense Edge will offer three types of caps: standard, high dome, and low dome. As for button remapping, Xbox Elite Series 2 offers three different ways to map, including one that requires going to the Accessories app on Xbox. The DualSense Edge features an on-controller UI with a dedicated Fn button that will allow you to adjust controller settings and other things like game volume. Both have their pros and cons, but the final comparison should come this January 26, which is when Sony launches its controller. Via: IGN
Editor’s note: It’s a good idea to do this comparison task, not so much to find out who is better, but to find out which features meet what the user is looking for. So that in the end you choose one of the two options. The post Comparison of DuelSense Edge and Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers first appeared on Atomix.
