From Saturday, October 29 to Monday, October 31, the Comic Con Chile 2022with dozens of events, including the cosplay contest that was won by a 30-year-old Chilean woman, who surprised everyone present with a awesome skull kid costume.
Fans of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda saga know well who the Skull Kid is. He is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, a member of the race of the same name, with a mischievous personality, playing and playing pranks on others.
Inspired by Zelda video games and her partner, cosplayer Nicole, known on Instagram as kanico_cosplayscooped the top prize in the Comic Con cosplay contest after being a Festigame finalist in August.
In an interview with BioBioChilethe cosplayer told the origin of her costume: “We did this character with my boyfriend, the truth is, we both really like Zelda. For him this game meant a lot, and I loved it. he encouraged me a lot”.
Age is just a number
Although some may think that at 30 years old she should not be participating in cosplay contests, for Nicole the support of the people was enough: “I am 30 years old and I thought I was too old for this, but people encouraged me a lot, after seeing that I did a nice job”.
“When I heard my name on stage my eyes burst with tears. because it really wasn’t something that I said ‘oh, it could be’. It is the third competition in which I participate and well, the third was the charm”, declared an excited winner of the God of Cosplay.
The cosplayer talked about the work and time she put into the Skull Kid costume: “It was a total of two months of quite hard work.. Between work and other things he put it aside, but I always remembered it”.
The winner won a prize of one million Chilean pesos and will use it for projects from other cosplay contests: “Cosplay is something super expensive, between materials and fabrics. I will leave a fund for cosplay and continue studying, because this is a job”.
