On the second day of San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios had a panel dedicated to their upcoming animated projects and dropped a few updates on I Am Groot, What If…?, X-Men ’97 and other series. Sort everything in this note!
Let’s talk! comic-con! Already on the second day of the San Diego International Comic Convention 2022, Marvel Studios gave his presentation dedicated to his upcoming animated projects. This is the first time the studio has had a specific panel on this, separate from live-action movies and series. What was announced? In this note we tell you.
Marvel Studios revealed new information and glimpses of titles like I Am Groot, Spider-Man: Freshman Year, Marvel Zombies, the second season of What If…? and, of course, the return of an all-time classic: X-Men ’97.
I Am Groot
The animation panel began with a poster and first trailer for I Am Groot, a series of original shorts that will follow our favorite little tree as he gets into adorable new misadventures. Obviously Marvel saw the love and tenderness it generated Baby Groot and decided to give us content to see his glory days, how he grows up and gets into trouble.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year
A series that we did not know so much about. Now thanks to the comic-conWe have several things to keep in mind. First of all, this animated series will arrive in 2024 and will follow peter parker on his way to becoming spider-man while going through his freshman year of high school. This means that it will be set before the events of Captain America: Civil War.
Images of the new suit were shown at the panel. spider-man and of several characters that will appear (new and old). What If…?

This animated series will expand the universe that we saw in a chapter of What if…?where some of the superheroes of Marvel Studios they became undead. Due to its graphic content, apparently violent and with a lot of gore, Marvel Zombies will have an R rating. It would reach Disney+ in 2024.
During the panel comic-con several glimpses were seen of the characters that will be in their zombie versions, which means that they would be the villains of the series: Hawkeye, Captain America, Abomination, Ghost, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Okoye and Ikaris. Who will face them are: Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, Kate Bishop, Jimmy Woo, Ms Marvel, Death Dealer and Shang Chi. Also, some images showed a Skrull biker gang, very Mad Max-esque.
X Men ’97
After so much expectation and excitement, we have the first glimpses of x men ’97, an animated series that will explore new stories in the original series’ iconic ’90s timeline. will come to Disney+ in autumn (our spring) of 2023 and it is already known that there will be a second season.
At the panel, the show’s creators listed the characters that will be part of the team: Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee and Cyclops. Images of characters such as Cable, Bishop, Morph, Nightcrawler, Roberto Da Costa and Magnetowho will apparently be the new leader of the X Men.
