China is getting stronger and stronger. The Asian giant is more convinced of conquering Europe with its new batch of electric cars, especially after seeing last year’s accounts. 2022 will undoubtedly be one of the most important in this objective, the keys to which we will tell you.
China is more than in a position to raid the European market for electric cars. The Asians set themselves the goal of conquering the Old Continent by introducing their combustion models, but many of them were only for sale for a short time. On the other hand, with zero emissions, the invasion is being brutal and is going to go further.
Just look at last year’s figures. A recent study by «Jato Dynamics» has revealed that the electric share has grown by 30 percent in the last year alone. A tough competition for European brands that are forced to continuously improve their offer. And it is that Asians not only produce at much lower cost, but have significant funding governmental. In fact, despite these lower costs, the autonomy they offer is greater than that of the Europeans.
But also the partnerships with global component suppliers have helped them as much as the experience and knowledge acquired from other subjects. China is not Europe. The European client is very demanding, and this is the subject of detailed studies. An attractive design inside and out is one of the keys, but so is technology. Today, this field has become, and especially digitization, what powerfully draws the attention of customers. One of the key reasons why its interiors tend towards minimalism but with unimaginable gadgets and multiple connectivity options.
The Chinese also hold collaborations with European engineering consultants to comply with the demanding safety standards of the European Union, and of the body in charge of this matter, Euro NCAP. All of these factors are being keys for the Far Eastern country to start offering its zero-emission models in Europe. More than one will remember those tests of a Chinese model that literally broke in half in a crash test carried out in Germany, forcing the withdrawal of units for sale in Belgium.
Chinese electric sales around the world reach a rate of 45%, and no less than 60% of all models are manufactured in this populous country. One of the great examples is the Tesla Model Y sold in Europe, which comes from the Shanghai Gigafactory. Polestar, BMW and Volvo will manufacture in China for Europe, but 2022 is expected to be full of a veritable barrage of new ZERO-labeled models from Chinese brands.
