The latest teaser of the future electric Chevrolet Silverado has served to reveal one of the great technological innovations of the full-size battery-powered pick-up. This will have an advanced 4-wheel steering system, totally different from the system used in the future GMC Hummer EV range.
The Ford F-150 Lightning will not be on the market much longer, as General Motors is already finalizing the details of what will probably be the maximum rival of Ford’s electric pick-up, the future Chevrolet Silverado electric, of which at the moment we do not know what kind of denomination it will use to distinguish itself from the rest of the regular versions of the Silverado 1500 range. Although the initials EV have all the ballots, like the rest of similar models of Chevrolet or GMC.
General Motors confirmed the launch of this battery-powered pick-up several months ago and ever since We have already seen the odd teaser as a preview. But this new video published by the company are the first images we have of the model and also in motion.
Until now we have not been able to see any image or video of the future electric variant of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, so this new teaser video is doubly novel, as shows a portion of the model (including its attractive and elaborate tires) and reveals one of its first technological innovations.

One of the great novelties of the electric variant of the Silverado 1500 will be the premiere of a new 4-wheel steering system that until now has not been available in Chevy’s full-size light-duty pick-up range. As we can see in the video, the rear wheels rotate significantly with respect to the longitudinal axis, which will allow the model a much smaller turning radius.
This system is not identical to the Crab Walk or ‘Crab Mode’ of the GMC Hummer EV, then in the case of the Silverado the rear wheels turn at an angle opposite that of the wheels on the front axle, while the aforementioned system of the Hummer range turns all the wheels simultaneously in the same direction to allow a slight lateral movement while it is circulating. According to GM, the new 4-wheel steering system of the electric Chevrolet Silverado will allow it a much higher maneuverability than usual in the segment.
