charlie cox rose to fame thanks to giving life to the protagonist of ‘Daredevil’ in the series seen on Netflix between 2015 and 2018. The actor recently resumed the character in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and it is a matter of time before he does it again , but the superhero of Marvel had previously been performed by Ben Affleck in a 2003 movie that isn’t much to Cox’s liking.
confused and overwhelmed
Speaking at Middle East Film & Comic Con 2022, Cox revealed that he didn’t see the film until after he landed the role and was unimpressed with the result. The actor acknowledges that Affleck “he does a really good matt murdock i like it“, but things change when assessing the whole:
I think she tried to do too many things and was a bit confused when it came to tone. They had everybody in the movie, Kingpin, Bullseye, Karen Page and Foggy. She was saturated and it’s two hours. I think that’s part of the problem. And that suit sucks!
The truth is that Cox is right in his complaints about the film directed by Mark Steven Johnson. It is true that later there was a director’s cut that improved some of those problems, but they wanted to have it all in a short time, thus suffering the final result.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who prefers, and by far, the series starring Cox. Now it will be necessary to see if there is any real possibility of resuming it or not, although I suspect that it would undergo quite a few changes if Disney and Marvel bet on it.
