ABB has presented the Terra 360 recharging module, the fastest in the world and which is already preparing its landing in Europe by the end of this year. This new charger will have a maximum power of 360 kW.
The electric car is waiting impatiently for the technology and charging infrastructure to catch up with the industry, because as long as that does not happen, sales will not take off and will begin to prevail over vehicles with a heat engine.
But novelties such as the one presented by ABB are undoubtedly what the industry expects, as the Zurich-based firm is already preparing the launch of its new and powerful charging module for all audiences: the Terra 360.
This module has a maximum power of 360 kW and it has the capacity to supply power to four vehicles simultaneously, making it possible to increase their autonomy by 100 km in just three minutes and reach 100% in just 15.
“Demand for fast and easy electric vehicle charging infrastructure is higher than ever”
This makes it especially useful in service stations and shopping centers where users can do their shopping while their vehicles are fully charged. Similarly, it is suitable for public charging points, fleets and any other type of use.
“With governments around the world pursuing public policies favoring electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to use. operate, it is higher than ever, ”said Frank Muehlon, president of ABB’s Electric Mobility Division. “The Terra 360, with charging options to suit a variety of needs, is the key to meeting that demand and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility globally”.
As reported by ABB, the Terra 360 recharge module will be available in Europe before the end of the year, while its implementation in the United States, Latin America and Asia Pacific will arrive throughout 2022.
Easy to use
The Terra 360 incorporates a lighting system that guides the user through the charging process and displays the EV battery’s State of Charge (SoC) and the residual time before the end of an optimal charging session. It is also wheelchair accessible and features an ergonomic cable management system that helps drivers connect quickly with minimal effort.
This is ABB’s new charging module, the Terra 360.
This gives homeowners the flexibility to load up to four vehicles overnight or to give a quick recharge to your electric vehicles during the day. Because Terra 360 chargers have a small footprint, they can be installed in small warehouses or parking lots where space is at a premium.
In addition -and thinking about companies-, Terra 360 chargers are fully customizable. To customize the appearance, customers can “mark” the chargers using different foils or by changing the color of the LED light strips. There is also the option to include an integrated 27 “advertising screen for playing videos and images.
ABB’s high-power chargers are already being deployed in different parts of the world through IONITY and Electrify America.
