The Spanish driver always found his passion in cars. His first vehicle was a humble Volkswagen Golf GTI from 2012, valued at 24,720 euros, which he maintains to this day. Find out more!
A life destined for speed. Since he was a teenager he was already driving different vehicles that exceeded 100 km / h. Once he was 18 years old, Carlos Sainz Jr. was able to obtain a driver’s license, and thus obtain his first car: A 2012 Volkswagen Golf GTI.
This tourism-type vehicle is the humblest in the Spanish driver’s garage, although on more than one occasion he admitted that it is one of his favorites. The reason is its use, since he drives it through the streets of his city, in order to go unnoticed. Of course, it is not a low-end car either, although nobody would believe that it would be one driven by Sainz Jr.
The Golf GTI has a value of 24,780 euros. Among its features, we can highlight a 2.0 TSI engine with 4 cylinders located in line, which provide a power of 211 CV at 5,300-6,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 1,700-5,200 rpm. These numbers allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
In the garage of the Spaniard rests next to supercars of the Ferrari and McLaren brand, each valued at more than 200,000 euros. It’s good to know that despite fame, idols keep their feet on the ground.
