In contrast, we have sales of commercial vehicles in China, which closed January with 344,000 units, 25.0% less than in 2021.
The electric car maintains its unstoppable rise in the Asian Giant. The category called New Energy Vehicles (NEV) accumulated 419,000 units registered in the first month of 2022, which represents a growth of 138.7% compared to the previous year. This category includes both battery electric cars (BEVs) and plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).
Fully electric cars led sales of NEV vehicles with 335,000 units, 127.3% more than in 2021. The remaining 85,000 units corresponded to plug-in hybrid models, 198.3% more than in the first month of last year. By the way, the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV repeats as the best-selling electric car in China. The small electric model is an unquestionable best seller.
