Capcom has shared the financial results of the second quarter of fiscal year 2022, and throws up some very revealing numbers for the Japanese developer and publisher. Software sales during this period reveal that 91.5% of players They opted for games and content in digital format, leaving only 8.5% in physical format.
This huge digital growth is attributed to Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak (Nintendo Switch) downloadable content and sales of titles from Capcom’s extensive proprietary catalog. The split between digital and physical unit sales is the biggest in recent years to the company: 70% digital / 30% physical at this same time last year.
