The works were created by more than 40 artists within the “Iztapalapa Mural” initiative.
Mexico City is one of the main tourist spots, thanks to the thousands of activities it offers, its museums, streets and alleys, as well as its artistic expressions, as shown by the “Urban gallery” that accompanies the route of Line 2 of the Cablebus.
According to what is indicated by the Cultural Information System, of the Ministry of Culture, there are currently just over 1,432 museums, with Mexico City being the entity that concentrates the largest number of them, with just over 168, this without counting all those spaces that offer cultural experiences running in urban galleries.
Since its inauguration, on August 8, 2021, the Cablebús has become a regular means of transport for just over 56,000 people, who for 7 pesos can access a one-hour tour, traveling about 10.6 kilometers. .
Cablebus offers urban gallery for 7 pesos
Cablebus Line 2 has seven stations and a capacity to transport just over 90,000 passengers a day, flying over one of the most marginalized areas of the City, which offers a unique spectacle, as it has a urban “gallery” with more than 100 murals that adorn the rooftops and offer a unique spectacle.

Under the “Iztapalapa Mural” initiative, it was sought to give life to the urban gallery, which had the participation of at least 40 urban artists, encouraged by the Executive Directorate of Culture of the Iztapalapa Mayor’s Office, to give life to murals inside of the entire demarcation, this with the intention of recovering and dignifying public spaces.
However, the Cablebús, from CDMX, is not the one that offers a view considered as touristic, since in Veracruz, Mexico, there is the “Teleférico de Orizaba”, which runs from the historic center of the region, to the top of Cerro del Borrego, providing a unique experience since its inauguration in 2013.
