The Coca-Cola Company announced today that Bruno Pietracci will become president of the company’s Latin America Operating Unit, overseeing the Mexican, Central American, Caribbean and South American markets.
Pietracci will be succeeded in Africa by Luisa Ortega, who is president of the company’s central area in Latin America, which includes Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Central America and the Caribbean.
Luis Felipe Avellar will assume the presidency of the Mexico area in Latin America, replacing Roberto Mercadé, who has been named president of The Coca-Cola Company’s McDonald’s Division. Currently, Avellar leads the operations in southern Latin America
The changes involving Pietracci, Ortega and Avellar will take effect on February 1, 2023.
Pietracci and Ortega will report to Henrique Braun, who on January 1, 2023 becomes Coca-Cola’s President of International Development. Braun has served as president of Coca-Cola’s Latin America Operating Unit since 2020. Avellar will report to Pietracci.
“I am pleased to welcome Bruno back to his native Latin America, where he has extensive experience in various markets,” said Braun. “I am also happy to see Luisa leverage her global knowledge and experience to lead our operations in Africa, while Luis will bring his strong track record to Mexico.”
