The timing of giving the engagement ring is generally expected to be perfect, as it involves a question to which no one wants to receive a no for an answer. However, this is not always the case and they can have an embarrassing experience, especially if it is done in a public place. This is what happened in Culiacán, Sinaloa, when a bride ‘bats’ marriage proposal in a baseball game.
Marriage proposals are usually magical and unforgettable for most couples, since it is the beginning of a new stage in the relationship. But as we well know, there are some that end in complete failure.
Now, there’s a new story going around TikTok which could show that proposals in a public place are not exactly the best idea.
The ‘failed’ proposal
In the video shared by the official account of the Culiacán tomato treesit can be seen that the mascot of the Sinaloan team, ‘Tommy Tomato’approaches the stands and hands the groom a baseball, which has something written on it.
The fan takes the ball and pretends not to know what it is or what the message on it says. However, with the microphone in his hand and standing up he reads: “Will you marry me?”.
Later, he kneels and takes the engagement ring out of his pocket. All while they are filmed and projected on the stadium’s big screens.
She starts laughing and turning around nervously. So, the tension in the place increased, when the fans begin to scream “Say yes!”.
The video ends at the moment in which the bride ‘bats’ a marriage proposal by responding with an emphatic “NO”.

The happy ending that few saw
On the platform, the video has been viewed more than two million times and has countless comments about it. Some criticizing the way the proposal was made, seeing it as “too public”, while others couldn’t believe the way she rejected it.
However, the story did not end with that fateful ending and a broken heart. In fact, the bride uploaded another clip to her personal account on the platform, in which she shows herself already wearing the ring, some flowers, and her boyfriend (or now her fiancé) playing the accordion. Of course, with much fewer people around.
Also in another video, with a different perspective than that of the Tomateros, it is seen that after saying “NO”, she affirms that she loves him three times and accepts the proposal.
Although this story seemed to have a sad ending, love triumphed, as did the unexpected public marriage proposal. Therefore, we can conclude that the stories are successful or not, depending on the perspective from which you observe it. Congratulations to the happy couple!
