What is it about Breaking Bad?
Breaking Bad is an American series set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that tells the story of Walter White, a chemistry professor who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. Seeking to ensure the financial well-being of his family, Walter turns to a life of crime producing and distributing methamphetamines with his former student, Jesse Pinkman.
The distribution of Breaking Bad
Bryan Cranston heads the distribution of Breaking Bad as Walter White. The actor, whom we met as Hal in Malcolm in the middle, gave life to the main character of the series. He is a chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer. To ensure the well-being of his family, he decides to produce and sell methamphetamines. Over time, Walter would end up adopting the alias “Heisenberg”, his street name.
Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman. A former student of Walter who decides to work alongside his former teacher. Jesse had already had some contact with drugs, since in his youth he had used and sold methamphetamines. The relationship between him and his teacher is similar to that of a father with his son, with scoldings and life lessons. The two drug dealers do what it takes to keep their business afloat.
Anna Gunn as Skyler White. Skyler, “Sky,” is the wife of Walter White. She and Walter have two children, Walter White Jr. and Holly White. Throughout the series, Skyler will face the inexplicable absence of her husband, as well as her erratic mood. When her husband reveals the truth behind her mysterious hobby, Skyler seeks a divorce. However, she later ends up helping Walter with the finances of his drug dealing.
Krysten Ritter as Jane Margolis. Jane is Jesse Pinkman’s main love interest. The two lived in apartments together since Jesse was kicked out of his parents’ house and immediately fell in love. When Jesse first offered drugs to his girlfriend, she rejected him, revealing that she had had addiction problems. Eventually, the couple does drugs together until Jane’s terrible death due to a methamphetamine overdose.
Dean Norris as Hank Schrader. Hank is Walter White’s brother-in-law and a special agent for the Albuquerque police in drug prevention. Despite his great drive and endless explosive attitudes, Hank managed to stay safe from the dangers he faced daily. After investigating where “Heisenberg’s” success came from, Hank discovers that his brother-in-law is a major drug dealer and dedicates his entire life to stopping him.

Better Call Saul (season 2, episode 8)
This chapter served as an introduction to the criminal lawyer, Saul Goodman in the series. After a colleague of theirs ends up in jail for a police operation, Walter and Jesse seek the help of flamboyant lawyer Saul Goodman. As a result of some problems between the trio, Saul is kidnapped by Walt and Jesse to help them in the case.
The lawyer’s character turned out, like several secondary characters in the series, to be excellent examples of how to develop dramatic arcs. Not for nothing did Saul Goodman himself provide material for the spin-off Better Call Saul.
phoenix (season 2, episode 12)
One of the most painful chapters for fans of the series. In this episode we saw the death of Jane, Jesse Pinkman’s girlfriend. Jane dies from a heroin overdose and instead of helping her, Walter prefers to let her die to protect her relationship with Jesse and Jesse himself. This is one of the big turning points for Jesse and the series itself.

fly (season 3, episode 10)
The plot of this chapter is very simple: a fly enters Walter and Jesse’s laboratory. They must eliminate the intruder as it is a contaminant that can affect the purity of your methamphetamine. But as we already know, with simple plots and arguments, Gilligan makes extraordinary chapters.
It is the best chapter in the sense of showing the obsessions within the relationship of these great characters. Similar to a play, Walter and Jesse take their personalities to the maximum, to the point of reaching a confession that will change their relationship definitively. The fly may seem anecdotal and even comical at first, but it is the key dramatic element to leave us with one of the best chapters of the series.
Full Measurement (season 3, episode 13)
The conclusion of the third season of the series showed us Walter negotiating for the well-being of himself and his partner, Jesse Pinkman. After a series of stumbles, Jesse eventually arrives at the door of Gale Boetticher, another of Walter’s former meth buddies. The situation becomes complicated when Jesse and Walter find out that Gale is the replacement that Gus Fring is looking for, and subsequently eliminates the duo from this story. The ending leaves a magnificent suspense: Jesse points a gun at Gale, and is forced to kill when threatened by Gus.

Buyout (season 5, episode 6)
After a train robbery, Jesse Pinkman and Mike Ehrmantraut decide to leave the business, leaving Walter White to handle things on his own. Meanwhile, Mike is being followed by the DEA.
Ozymandias (season 5, episode 14)
Considered by critics and by Gilligan himself as the best episode of the series. Ozymandias It is a title that makes a clear reference to a poem that talks about the fall of a leader. In this case, the fall of Walter White as Heisenberg. If the heart of Breaking Bad is to see how a chemistry teacher is corrupted to be one of the biggest methamphetamine drug dealers, Ozymandias It is the chapter that best represents it.
A masterpiece praised in all aspects: script, performances, lucid use of each shot. The death of one of the series’ most endearing characters shows the rottenness of its protagonist and the way to an exciting season finale.
Feline (season 5, episode 16)
Walter White makes one last attempt to secure his family’s future, while also visiting some old enemies, during his final return to Albuquerque. A closing worthy of its title, as it has a triple meaning. The first meaning is Felina as an anagram of the word finale (final). Second as a source of inspiration for the character Feelinafrom the ballad Stepof Marty Robbins. And third, as another play on words that refers to elements of the periodic table: iron, lithium, and sodium (Fe, Li and Na), the first is found in the blood, the second in methamphetamines and the third in tears. Breaking Bad For its director, it is a series that is based on these three elements.
