During the last months, if not years, we have witnessed the enormous progress that the automata developed by the company have shown. Boston Dynamics. But shortly all our preconceived ideas were burst thanks to a spectacular viral video that emerged from TikTok. Today we discovered that everything was caused by Artificial Intelligence.
Throughout all this time we have become accustomed to the firm sharing different demonstration videos through YouTube and some other social networks where we can observe the qualities of its robots.
In each and every one of these real materials we are amazed at how automata are capable of performing tasks that in another context could be the stuff of nightmares. Like performing impossible jumps, doing pirouettes, integrating an operational flamethrower and even… opening locked doors.
All of this by itself is enough to make anyone with a valid concern worry about the direction this industry could take as soon as it integrates with state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence systems like GPT-4 from Open AI.
But this time all those fears were far, far surpassed, all thanks to a viral video where the robot simply looked like a fighting ninja from the future.
One of the relevant advantages of TikTok is that it is easy to trace the origin of the videos that end up becoming popular. This is how a clip in which we saw a Boston Dynamics automaton performing inconceivable combat movements had become extremely famous in recent days.
However the material was there to be seen and obviously many means They replicated the information as soon as it began to gain relevance due to its visual impact:
However, as reported by UberGizmo’s colleagues, everything turned out to be false and in reality that robot that we see in the video is absolutely false.
The material originally claimed that the robot was now using Artificial Intelligence systems to determine its combat movements and take protective measures against allied human soldiers.
But it points out that Artificial Intelligence would have actually been used to create and edit this video with its realistic movements that we see on the screen.
The original TikTok video that made it all popular has since been removed from the platform.
