Romance is in the air at Bones and Alla film that reunites Timothée Chalamet with director Luca Guadagnino after their fruitful collaboration on call me by your name (2017). Here what you should know.
What is it about?
Based on the homonymous novel by Camille DeAngelis, this story coming-og-age follows a pair of cannibalistic lovers, Maren (Taylor Russell) and Lee (Chalamet), as they road-trip through Ronald Reagan-era America. A journey in which she searches for answers about her father she never knew, in order to better understand why she kills and feeds on the people who love her. Can her romance survive the chilling revelations of her past?
“There is something in people deprived of privileges, in people who live on the margins of society, that attracts me and moves me. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, entangled in the impossibilities they face,” says Guadagnino. “[Bones and All] it is for me a meditation on who I am and how I can overcome what I feel, especially if it is something that I cannot control. And finally, and most importantly, when will I be able to find myself in the other’s gaze?
