In her nearly 50 years of professional life, the British fashion designer Zandra rhodes has stayed true – in addition to her pink hair and vibrant blue eyeshadow – to the daring prints and the vibrant and intense colors of its textiles.
In the 1970s, Zandra’s designs became an avant-garde symbol of the London scene of the moment. Since then they have been “worn” by such famous and diverse people as Princess Diana of Wales, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Debbie Harry, Paris Hilton and Freddie Mercury.
The latest from the fireproof designer is a collaboration with Ikea that, how could it be otherwise, reflects Zandra’s personal, daring and colorful universe.
The result of this collaboration is Karismatisk, a capsule collection that will be available in stores from September and that we already anticipate, is the opposite of boring. In fact, it’s like a breath of fresh air in the new decor scene. And is that if something can “accuse” the new or latest “trends” (and no one hears me) so japandi and sustainable (as if the latter were synonymous with the absence of color), it is to be so calm and so serene that can lead to decorative boredom. Something very easy to solve with the new pieces of the British designer.
New patterns and lots of color
Karismatik may be the simplest and most economical way to de make a change or express your personality at home.
At Ikea they know that “daring” with new patterns, shapes and colors at home can visually change the size of a room or the perception of a space. A single piece can add fun, energy, or even drama to your space.
Ikea’s curiosity to delve into the power of patterns and color to transform space led them to contact the iconic designer to propose a collaboration. Why, who better to do this than alongside the bold and creative fashion designer Zandra Rhodes?
Together with Zandra, Ikea explores how vibrant style and bold patterns can be applied to a home. The result is Karismatik, a collection of 26 unique and expressive pieces for those who want to boldly mix and match colors and patterns.
Zandra Rhodes herself explains that “it will be a lot of fun living with all these things; they can improve your way of life.” Of course they will if they can lift your spirits and give you a dose of vitamin in color form every day.
Here you can see a preview of his collection, and we will be attentive to its arrival in stores in September. It will come in handy to give that touch of avant-garde and color to our houses.
