The director Ángel Manuel Soto spoke in depth about the main post credits scene of Blue Beetle and how it fits with the plans for the future of the hero on the screen.
This happened in an interview that Soto gave to Entertainment Weekly. There, it became clear that the director is aware of the path that the franchise would follow if his return was confirmed. During the talk, he talked about what would happen if he continued with the idea that was raised after the first interruption of the film’s credits.
WARNING: They are coming SPOILERS of Blue Beetle
The scene in question reveals that Ted, father of Jenny Kord (Bruna Marquezine), is alive and has tried to communicate with his daughter on several occasions through the connection he has with one of the high-tech suits that are in his lair. We will have to wait to see what will happen to him.
For now, the director said the following about it:

In the comics, Kord’s Blue Beetle usually teams up with Booster Gold, a character that James Gunn wants to include in his revamped universe. Ángel Manuel Soto was aware of this, so he thought it would be a little wink:
“All [en la producción] We love Ted Kord and Booster Gold, and knowing that James Gunn has plans for Booster Gold as well, it seemed like the right thing to go on.” “Ted Kord is still alive, he is somewhere in the universe, and what the future holds for our hero is open to interpretation. So whether it’s Booster Gold or Ted Kord or both [juntos]the possibility exists and it is something that we want to be entertaining ».
Blue Beetle It is already available in movie theaters in a large part of the world and, so far, has been very well received. But will it be successful enough at the box office to secure the development of a sequel and, incidentally, survive the changes made by James Gunn and Peter Safran? That will only be known with the passage of time.

Jose Roberto Landaverde I love writing, listening, reading and commenting on everything related to cinema. I love music and am a fan of The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and Paramore. My favorite movies are Rocky and Back to the Future and obviously one day I’ll climb the “Philly Steps” and drive a DeLorean. Faithful believer that cinema is the best teleportation machine, and also that on the big screen we can all see ourselves represented.
