Last year it was announced that Bloober-Team and Konami had announced a “strategic cooperation agreement,” with the companies seeking to develop games together. The latest rumors suggest that the Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, but it would not be the only project in the series to Konami.
In an interview with IGN during the Digital Dragons video game conference, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno responded to the rumors of the Silent Hill 2 Remakesaying they can’t say what they’re working on, but will make an announcement about their next projects as soon as they can.

Bloober Team is a development team known for its games in the horror and suspense genre, such as Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch and The Medium, which arrived as an Xbox Series X|S exclusive last year and is currently also available on PlayStation 5.
I would say it’s hard to work with someone (who owns the IP you work on) but we always talk to those licensors, ‘Guys we’d like to use your license, but we’d like to tell our own story.’ If we can’t tell our own story if we don’t have creative freedom, it wouldn’t make sense, because Bloober Team wouldn’t be able to make a great game.”
In the interview, Babieno said that when Bloober Team reaches an agreement with another company to make a game based on a license, they make sure they have the creative freedom to create the game they want, because “if we don’t have creative freedom, it wouldn’t make sense, because Bloober Team couldn’t make a great game.”
If you are in a prison, you will not be able to fly. So that’s why we try to only work on those titles where we feel, ‘OK, it’s going to be a Bloober Team game, not someone else’s.’ So even the project we can’t talk about will be a Bloober Team title.”

In the event that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake, Babieno’s words hint that BT would implement their own ideas into the installment, something that could upset fans of the original installment. It’s also possible that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill game but not an SH2 remake, as there are said to be a main installment and spin-offs in development.
