The announcement of Diablo Immortal caused a tremendous stir among the Blizzard community, as many players did not accept that the company was betting on a delivery for mobile devices rather than a traditional delivery for PC and consoles. Finally, this adventure arrives this week, also on PC, and many players are now wondering if Diablo Immortal will come to consoles. The truth is Blizzard won’t close the door to this possibility.
“I want to point out that controller support and console support are two very separate things,” says Diablo brand producer Rod Fergusson, when asked about a hypothetical console version, noting that Diablo Immortal has controller support in its PC version (via JeuxVideo). “Basically, I’m the type to never say never, but we have nothing to announce or say today“.
“I think a big part of controller support is that it was supposed to be included in the mobile version, so ultimately mobile and PC,” explains Joe Grubb, director of Diablo Immortal. “It was part of our goal. bring Diablo Immortal to new audiences and make it more accessible. So it’s just another possibility because some players prefer to play with the controller. We received a lot of feedback during the beta version. So the decision was much more about fulfill that wish of the players and give them more ways to interact with Immortal.”
If Blizzard doesn’t formally close the door on a console version of Diablo Immortal and ensures that decision-making is based on fan desire, does that mean that with enough community support, Blizzard would consider this version? At the moment it is an unanswered question, we will see the reception of the game in its premiere on PC and mobile devices next June 2nd.
More Devil
Aside from this Devil Immortal, Blizzard is still working on Diablo IV, confirmed delivery or for consoles and PC. At the moment it does not have a specific release date, but each preview of the game reveals new interesting details about its role, action and dungeon proposal.
