It is unknown what the future of this title will be on PlayStation
If a month ago they told us that Activision Blizzard was going to give a 180º turn in its public imageNone of us would have believed it, especially with the board of directors and senior officials keeping their posts. However, Phil Spencer’s checkbook knows no bounds, thereby giving rise to what would be the news of the year without even ending the month of January, since last week it was learned that Microsoft was in the process of acquiring Activision Blizzard.
It must be said that this purchase not only brings with it the opportunity to clean up the company’s image, but also all past, present and future IPs of Activision Blizzard become the property of Microsoft, being this parent company that will decide the fate of these and the launch on other platforms. And under this premise, a new IP has been announced that could suffer the same fate.
A survival title that might not make it to PlayStation
Recently Blizzard Entertainment has announced a new game based on survival, which would be set in a completely new universe, which is to say that does not belong to any known saga of the company. With this in mind, no further details of the title have been given, except that will come to PC and consoles, without specifying the latter, which has made us think that we would only see it on platforms of the Xbox family.
Also, a couple of title concept arts that you can see in the image above, thus showing those who could be the protagonists, two children, and the setting of at least one of its areas with a forest.
On the other hand, it has been revealed that Blizzard is recruiting staff for the project, being quite a few vacancies that still need to be filled, so it would be implied that this project is still in a very early stage of its development.
For the rest, it should be remembered that the other projects that Blizzard currently have in hand are Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, which currently will not be released until at least 2023.
