A few moments ago it was reported that both Overwatch 2 What Diablo IV they had been delayed, this despite the fact that none of these games had an exact release date. Well, as if that weren’t enough, it was also announced that Jean Oneal, co-leader of Blizzard, you will be leaving the company.
Oneal he joined to Blizzard in August of this year together with Mike ybarra, thus replacing the position he left J. Allen Brack, who resigned shortly after all cases of harassment and discrimination within the study were uncovered. That is to say, Oneal lasted just under six months as co-leader of Blizzard, and here you can read his farewell message:
“I’m not quitting because I’ve lost faith in Blizzard, quite the opposite – I’m inspired by the passion of everyone here who is working for better change. This energy inspired me to get out there and explore how I can do more to make games and diversity intertwine, and hopefully have a much bigger impact that also benefits Blizzard (and other studios). Although I’m not entirely sure what this will look like, I’m excited to embark on a new journey to find out. ”
About, Bobby kotick, CEO from Activision Blizzard, responded with the following:
“I was very confident, and still am, in Jen’s abilities as a leader. I think she really wants to go out there to transform the industry. Her mission in life is to make great games and transform the industry so that as more women enter it, it is much more attractive and welcoming to all. It will be a great opportunity for us to partner with her. “
Before leaving office entirely, Oneal transfer your responsibilities to Ybarra and will help determine the amount you will receive as part of your grant.
Editor’s note: Needless to say, things within Activision Blizzard are not good at all. The fact that its two biggest games have been delayed, and that much of its leadership is resigning, speaks to how much the company is suffering internally. This definitely goes a long way.
