The music sector generates a large amount of money for everyone involved, but in recent years a new genre has emerged that is K-pop, music originating in South Korea, and which according to data from this government contributes more than 10,000 billions of dollars to its economy.
According to data from the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, about 42.5 percent of the participants said that K-pop was highly popular beyond South Korea’s borders.
K-pop is a global icon, and according to UNAM Global, this generation reinforces the country brand of South Korea, promoting the word “Korea” in the world.
Blackpink themed restaurant
The viral restaurant called Won Korean BBQ & Grill has gained popularity for being inspired by the K-pop band Blackpink.
The establishment, which is an establishment dedicated to Korean food, has three branches in the metropolitan area of Monterrey.
Its popularity is due to the fact that the owners decorated the premises with neon signs with the name of the band and each of the members: Lisa, Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo.
As well as on the walls of the place there are various photographs of the girls at certain moments in their careers, as well as covers of their albums.
But lovers of this band that performed this year at the Foro Sol in Mexico City, is that in the venue you can hear several hits such as “Shut Down”, “How You Like That”, “Pink Venom”, ” Kill This Love”, “As If It’s Your Last”, among others.
According to the menu published on the official website of Won Korean BBQ & Grill, the restaurant has different types of buffets that include sushi, ramen, and items to prepare on the grill such as seafood, chicken, pork, beef, among others.
With this, there are already many places that have gone viral on social networks, such as some Mexican entrepreneurs who created Stranger Pigs, a Stranger Things-themed carnitas business in Puebla.
The place was created with the objective that diners have a pleasant moment while eating and remember the popular Netflix series. According to the comments, this place has stolen glances, especially on platforms such as Uber Eats or Rappi, since it has quite affordable packages and prices.
There are also several decorated cafes that offer Harry Potter products and even animations like Hello Kitty.
And this is how, each time, locals continue to opt for viral and controversial topics to include it in their ventures and generate sales, whether due to good or bad reviews.
