Bioshock is one of the franchises that achieved the greatest popularity during the generation of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Such has been the level of popularity of the franchise, that just over a month ago Netflix announced that it is already working on the production of a Bioshock movie.
Despite the fact that we already know that a fourth installment is being worked on, we have not had any news about it for months. However, it appears that instead Bioshock Infinite is getting new updates 9 years after release from game to market.
Bioshock Infinite receives a strange update 9 years later
According to the portal thegamera new batch of patches hit the title in September of last year, culminating in now Bioshock Infinite receives a strange update as a celebration of the title’s ninth anniversary. For now, 2K Games has not spoken publicly about it, which has caused fans to make all kinds of theories about it.
Bioshock 4 would have received a significant delay in its release date
Some of these theories bet on the possibility of seeing a new remastering of the title (something that is not so far-fetched, considering that the last remastering of the franchise, Bioshock: The Collection, hit the market six years ago), as well as others who have bet on the possibility that it is a patch for the new generation, or even an update just to be able to port the game to the Steam Deck.
However, none of these theories has enough support to take them for good. In fact, some reddit users have concluded that it could simply be a maintenance task, so it would not be anything new for the title. Be that as it may, we will remain vigilant in case there is finally any news with Bioshock Infinite.
