In 2017, Ubisoft finally gave us an official look at Beyond Good & Evil 2, the long-awaited prequel to the classic 2003 game. However, five years have passed since then, and the French company has remained silent regarding this title. While some may think that this project has been cancelled, this is not the case, and a recent job application reveals why Ubisoft has taken time to reveal new information about Beyond Good & Evil 2.
Recently, the official Ubisoft Barcelona Twitter account posted a job application for a senior gameplay animator, making it clear that there is still a long way to go in the development of this title. Along with this, it was mentioned that this is the studio’s most ambitious projectthus explaining why time has passed without us having more information about Beyond Good & Evil 2.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a prequel to the 2003 classic, which takes place in the 24th century, and once again introduces us to Jade. Hopefully with Summer Game Fest just a few weeks away, this is the event where we finally get a new look at this titleor perhaps in a Ubisoft Forward.
On related topics, Netflix is already working on a Beyond Good & Evil. Similarly, a report indicates that the sequel was still in pre-production at the beginning of this year.
Editor’s note:
Ubisoft is no stranger to announcing games much sooner than necessary, just remember Skull & Bones, which also doesn’t have a release date. The best the company can do to appease fans is to re-release the original Beyond Good & Evil on modern consoles, whether it’s just a port, or a remastered version.
