The recent delay of Starfield has upset many fans, as it has been billed as “the big late 2022 release” for quite some time. However, it was not all bad news. Bethesda said, at the time, that it would show more details of the game shortly, which fit perfectly with the design of the logo of the game. Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase.
Bethesda he kept his word and showed for the first time gameplay of Starfield at the end of the Showcase. For the most part, it appears to be what many expected, but that’s not a bad thing at all. If anything, it looks like the wait for Starfield will be even longer.
This new gameplay trailer for Starfield shows the player landing on the moon of Krete, searching for an abandoned research facility. The trailer confirms the gameplay in first and third person, and shows some strange alien creatures for the first time. As seen below, they finally go into combat displaying a weapon wheel and a pair of pistols, as well as the enemy faction of the Crimson Fleet.
There’s even what appears to be a loot lock system, and overall, it has a strong Skyrim-in-space vibe. The presentation then moved on to New Atlantis and introduced the starting faction, Constellation. More details of the city and characters were shown, giving fans an overview of its style and approach, with character creation, combat, and customization of spaceships and other features.
Starfield doesn’t have a release date yet, but the Showcase is said to focus on games coming out in the next 12 months. This makes the Starfield early 2023 window rumor seem even more likely, but for now, we’ll just have to wait. Starfield will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S in 2023.
