Behind Berlin lies Alex Piña, who gave life to this phenomenon a few years ago. He is in charge of the scripts along with David Oliva, David Barrocal (also director), and Esther Martínez Lobato. The biggest absence is Javier Gómez Santander, responsible for some of the most iconic episodes in the original series.
What can we expect from this prequel?
Taking advantage of the fact that the series will feature mostly new characters, it is expected to touch on certain different themes and focus on aspects that are not very developed in the protagonist. Although Berlin died in the second season of the series, this is the perfect opportunity to learn how he became that expert thief and developed that peculiar personality.
Although it won’t completely deviate from the tone that made The Money Heist, Alex Piña pointed out that there will be notable differences in the DNA of this prequel. The robbery and its planning will be vital in each episode, but violence will be present to a lesser extent.
“The series may remind us of Money Heist because there are robberies and a gang, but we have removed violence and the use of weapons to provide comedy, not violence. We have enjoyed making it, and what we have seen of the result is faithful to the essence we are looking for. Now we have to create another character, because he is at a different point, and we have had to reinvent ourselves. A resounding cut has been made in terms of style. It is another series, but there are echoes,” Piña mentioned in a press conference (via).

Juan Jose Cruz I am one of those who always defended Robert Pattinson as Batman and can see the same movie in the cinema up to 7 times. My guilty taste? Low-budget horror films.
