It is true: women have to divide ourselves into more than two parts every time we take care of our children, we are at work, at school, in the gym, with the family … and other activities. There is no time to do one by one! We need to be multitask.
However, experts warn that: “being multitask all time, could put your physical, mental and emotional health at risk”, warns Earl Miller, professor of Neuroscience at MIT.
What are the consequences? Excessive tiredness, bad mood, memory problems, stress and frustration when not completing one or more tasks, among others.
Here we give you 7 tips to put aside being a multitask mom and you can lead an orderly and more relaxed life:
-Distinguish important things from urgent ones: there are things that, despite their importance, can wait a bit. Give yourself the time to do them!
-Order your goals: give meaning to your life and prioritize what you want to accomplish first.
-Be humble: sometimes we want to prove that we can do everything, but the only thing we will achieve is to get frustrated. Take things easy and accept that you have limits.
-Give yourself time: many times we forget to rest and relax by completing certain tasks. Remember that a time just for you is also very important to take care of your health and well-being.
-Learn to delegate activities: lose your fear and forget about “if I don’t do it, it doesn’t work out”. Delegate small activities to your children. Remember that they are in a learning stage and not everything has to be perfect.
-Trust in others: in order to rest, it is also necessary to trust that others will do their part. Don’t hypervigile the activities of others.
-Plan: if you have more precise control of all your activities, it will be better and easier to do them.
