Battlefield 2042 was, without a doubt, one of the great releases of the year 2021. After three years without a new installment in the franchise, and the promise of once again offering a similar experience seen in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, expectations for the title were quite high.
Although at first it seemed that sales of Battlefield 2042 had responded quite well, the truth is that now we have known that the data that was shared at the time had an important element that caused a higher accounting than it really was.
I’ve also been told the 4.23M sales number for # Battlefield2042 that I reported for week 1 sales are in fact “Total Players cumulatively” – So people who got refunds and played via the 10 hours trial are included in this number. pic.twitter.com/bXvcqbPV0d

Battlefield 2042 Sales Were Not As Good As Initially Said
Information from Tom Henderson ensured that Battlefield 2042 sales reached 4.23 million units. However, Henderson himself has confirmed in a new tweet that these data were flawed, since they were made taking into account the number of active players.
The creators of Battlefield 2042 are receiving a wave of insults and threats on networks
As Henderson has commented, said number did not take into account the players who later decided to return the DICE title; but it is that, in addition, the players who made use of the 10 hours offered by EA Play were also counted as sales of the title, so the real figure would be much lower.
For now, there has been no 100% real information on the sales of Battlefield 2042 during its first week, so we will have to wait for an official communication from Electronic Arts or DICE to know exactly how many games were sold during its first week.
