This year’s Evo has revealed some interesting news, as it seems that Bandai NamcoEntertainment just overtaken Tekken-8 to coincide with Evo 2022, since 1994, Tekken has been one of the most popular fighting game franchises and has received numerous installments and spin-offs.
And even though bandai namco has continued to be very supportive of the launch of Tekken 7 in 2015 for the past few years instead of releasing a new installment, it looks like Tekken 8 could now be on its way.
You see, this starts from a trailer announcing a new update for Tekken 7, where Bandai Namco seems to have dropped their first hint that the next Tekken game is now in development, and while details are scarce as of yet, this video in question ended with a flashback to the original Tekken where the character Kazuya throws Heihachi off a cliff before turning to face the camera and smiling.
However, when looking at the camera in this video, a new character model of Kazuya which is more like his appearance in recent games, and with the words “Get ready”, appearing on the screen before the video came to an end, it leaves us with that idea in mind.
So far, Bandai Namco has not confirmed that this teaser is for Tekken 8, but this seems to be the most likely, and the main reason for this belief is that Tekken 7 is getting quite old, which would open the door to a new entry in the series, because although Bandai Namco still supports the game, it has already been on the market for 7 years and as such, it seems that the life cycle is coming to an end.
