Probably no one has ever tasted lava in the history of mankind. Imagining the taste can bring to our brain things like burnt rock, charcoal, the burning sensation on the tongue, but never banana. Well someone clever has created the edible lava with that flavor.
To help those affected in La Palma, the Spanish archipelago that was affected a year ago by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, the renowned pastry chef Christian Escribà, director of the Escribà chain of pastry shops, has prepared an edible lava with a taste of banana.
This product, according to the report published on the website of the Notice Journal, it was made with sugar charcoal and its presentation is like that of the main image of this publication, a package similar to that of some condiments that are obtained in supermarkets.
All income from the lava will go to those affected
All income generated from the sales of this edible lava will be directed to those affected by the volcanic explosion a year ago.
This solidarity product created by Escribà has a value of two and a half euros and can be found in the 22 markets that are part of the Confederation of Traditional Markets of Supplies of Spain, such as those of La Boquería, Marina and Sants in Barcelona, the one of the Peace in Madrid or Triana in Seville.
Christian Escribà offered statements to EFE about the process of creating the edible banana-flavored lava: “We prepare a syrup at 128 degrees to which we incorporate a solution of grain sugar, egg white and black dye, and then the eruptions occur and it begins to rise; we let it rest for about thirty minutes and we already have the lava”.
Monday, September 19, marked the anniversary of the eruption, which began at 3:10 p.m. local time and ended on December 13 after 85 days of activity, becoming the longest volcanic eruption recorded on the island.
