Given the boom in music streaming platforms, graphic art on music album covers has faced a series of problems, due to the fact that people currently consume less and less music in physical formats; however, this art has found its place within the favoritism and collecting of music lovers, so far from losing relevance, has sought ways to make an impact thanks to the creative idea of those who bring these pieces to life and those who reinvent the classic covers, as it is, is the case of an illustrator who recreated the iconic covers of some albums, placing the characters of Chavo del Ocho.
The music industry has an extremely important weight for the world economy, it is estimated that during 2020, this sector registered a world economic spill of more than 22 thousand 400 million dollars, while in Mexico the total income registered during the same period of time, reached 178.7 million dollars, according to data provided by the Mexican Association of Producers of Phonograms and Videograms (AMPROFON).
Although at present the trend in music consumption via streaming is the great trend, since it registers a user base of more than 47.3 million, only in Mexico, according to The Competitive Intelligence Unit (CIU), physical records are still a recurring purchase among music lovers, so much so that currently nearly 1.3 million copies have been sold on vinyl, largely due to the art that a physical piece entails.
