One of the hottest releases for October is Back 4 Blood, the spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. The cooperative shooter and action game turned out to be a surprise to many players who tried the title in the latest beta and are looking forward to its release. Now, Warner Bros. has announced that the video game will use the anti-cheat system Denuvo, for the concern of users.
Turtle Rock Studios and Warner Bros. Games have updated the official Back 4 Blood page on Steam and we’ve had a surprise. The game will feature Denuvo, the famous anti-cheat system used primarily as anti-piracy measure. This decision has garnered some criticism among players, as Denuvo can negatively affect to game performance.
Obviously we never want a title to work worse than it should, but in a multiplayer video game the problem may be greater. We’ll see what happens and if its use ends up badly affecting the new game, but for example Resident Evil Village had to optimize it because the survival horror of Capcom he suffered greatly because of this system.
On the positive side, we found that the minimum and recommended requirements for Back 4 Blood are light, which could perhaps mitigate the impact of Denuvo on the game. Everything points to the version of the Microsoft Store, which will be available to Xbox Game Pass users, will not use this system, but will use the Own DRM from this store.
It must also be recognized that it is curious that Warner Bros. Games has decided to implement Denuvo in a game like this, when the majority of users will play online and it could be authenticated in this way. We’ll see what happens, but the game will be out for consoles and PC next October 12 °, so there is very little left to face thousands of zombies.
